Autumn Prep at Primark

What a great summer… for a duck! We have had nothing but rain for the best part of the week though it didn’t dampen our trip to the zoo thankfully. However I am still feeling pretty bad with a sore throat so to cheer myself up Ta Da. A little treat.

Primark has some really nice Ugg style boots in for autumn so I picked up a tan brown pair for only £6. I find it a good tip to by early so you are prepared. (They also sell the boots in grey and black) I also bought a Unicorn plaque for £1.50.

To my surprise and delight Boots were having a Yankee Candle sale. My local branch only had cinnamon on sale but other stores may differ. The large Yankees as pictured were reduced to £10 and the medium jars £5.

Treats

Total £17.50.

Amazing savings on kids toy haul.

As children see more and more as they grow the more they want. It’s not really their fault. Even as adults we fall into the ‘want’ trap. That’s why I love shopping second hand for some amazing finds like the ones I am sharing here.  These were all from charity shops for my daughter. The biggest saving was the Sylvanian Families Farmhouse RRP £74.99. and no longer made. I paid £4. It was like new. (door is missing in photo as my daughter took it off.) The smaller Sylvanian House cost £3. RRP £44.99 Ours did not come with furniture as it would new but still great savings.  The Friends Lego was still sealed and cost £1.99.  RRP £17.99.  Our Disney finds were a highlight as they can be so pricey. Merida from Brave toddler doll. No shoes but we have plenty others we can use £1.50 RRP £15.  Again the Ariel styling head did not come with accessories but we have them from another styling head. Cost to us £1. RRP £17.99.   The Wind In The Willows board game was originally given free when a copy of the video was bought through Readers Digest. I am unsure of the video cost to receive this gift but the game cost us £1.99.

I love shopping for my daughter as much as I do for myself and more so sharing what we find. I would say these are “pocket money finds”.

Overall RRP £170.96 (minus the board game) Cost to me £11.49 Total Savings £159.47.

Saving on fashion.

I’m more or less a jeans and tee girl but that doesn’t mean I don’t love sparkle and lots of it. My new item of desire has got to be these silver glitzy boots £34.99 from New Look

New Look £34.99

Who can resist?

I also quite like these little butterfly shoe clips to jazz up plain shoes.  How long have these been around?

Glitzy buttefly clips

Perfect for updating older shoes.

Earlier in the week I also went thrifting and bought a little on Ebay. Here’s what I bought and my estimated savings proving fashion can be fun and frugal.

First was the Gold sparkly River Island top from Ebay Cost £3.75 RRP unknown but usually around £20+. Second was a grey tee with diamante and lace detail. Again River Island and bought from Ebay. Cost £3.19 RRP £16.

Next a little visit to charity shops brought up this little lot. 1. Short sleeve black blazer from Topshop. Cost £1.99 RRP unknown but lower prices are £30+. 2. Primark slouchy pink tee Cost 99p RRP around £4 normally. 3. Primark patent pink shoes. Cost £1.50 RRP unknown. averages around £7.

Total cost to me £11.42. Estimated cost new £80.99. Saving of £69.57

Next post is my amazing savings on kids toys. You can also check out my hauls and reviews on youtube here.

Toddler Primark mini haul April 2014

I often sit and watch or read shopping haul vlogs and blogs mainly cause I love shopping. However despite wanting to attempt to do my own I never have gotten round to it. So here it is.

Its not often I get round to our local Primark and to be honest I would prefer to go to one of the larger stores. As it is I can easily spend £100 plus in a smaller store so perhaps best I’m not going every week! My intention was to go and pick up a gift for my sisters birthday. (She loves Primark as much as I do.) Along the way I also picked up a few peices for myself and for my daughter who is 2.

So why Primark? Well for one its cheap. That’s one of the main reasons. Also when it comes to footwear I wear them down so quick that I dont intend to spend lots on something that will likely last me no more than a month or two. There is a good range and they are featured in lots of magazines now so when you spy something you like the look of there is a good chance it is from Primark. Or at the very least you can get a lookalike copy of it from there at a fraction of the price.

Today Im focusing on what I bought for my toddler.

She badly needed new shoes. At the moment we have winter boots and wellies. Thats about it in her size so we were hoping to find a pair of trainers or hightops for running around in. Unfortunately we could not find any so we settled for the following dress shoes and canvas ones.  Pink a colour we both love so it works well.

Along side the shoes we also bought a new t-shirt 3/4yrs Peppa Pig for £4, a skinny jeans jacket in almost flourescent pink for £8 and in a size 4/5yrs. Primark tends to run small at times and my daughter is big for her age. Despite that I never thought I would be buying a size 4yrs for a 2yrs old! The small airplane is a 50p toy we picked up in a charity shop.
